London (Sunday): The Tower

This marks where the scaffold stood within the Tower. You were lucky if you were executed here, and not made into a public spectacle on Tower Hill. Lady Jane Grey and Queen Anne Boleyn were killed here.
Our beefeater tour guide.

Locked inside the White Tower.

With Flat Stanley, Leslie, and the Tower.

Oh, and after Wicked, we also visited Piccadilly Circus. Just to recap, on Saturday, we did: Leicester Square, Covenant Garden, British Museum, Camden Market, Evensong at Westminster, Big Ben/Parliament, Buckingham Palace, King's Cross Station, Wicked, and Piccadilly Circus. Needless to say, we were very proud of ourselves for doing so much. Also, very, very, very tired on Sunday morning. Headed to the Tower of London first thing. Oh, I have thus far forgotten to mention that the Tube was undergoing scheduled maintenance on several lines this weekend, which made some of our navigating a bit difficult and required extra walking to the sights. Example: the Tower Tube stop was closed, so we had a lovely 15-min. walk that morning on our weary legs. Anywho, the Tower was great, per usual. Wish we had had more time to spend there. Crown Jewels were my favorite. Our "beefeater" tour guide was wonderful.
